Women Feted at Wilton Library’s Ladies’ Soirée Oct. 2

The nights are getting cooler, the hot summer sun is fading and Wilton women are well into their fall activities of getting kids shuttled to school, sports practices, and other endeavors – which means the ladies have earned a night out to call their own.   Wilton Library delivers with its fifteenth Annual Ladies’ Soirée on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.  This special event is the library’s fall fundraiser that celebrates women and their friendships.   The ladies will be treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres from Cactus Rose, a scrumptious signature margarita created just for the event, enticing silent auction items designed for them, plus drawings for Jet Blue airline tickets and an iPad Mini. The event is made possible thanks to the following sponsors:  The Greens at Cannondale, Wilton Family Eye Care and Wilton Magazine, the media sponsor. Event organizers returning this year are Priscilla Thors, Nalini Hage, and Kari Roberts with newcomer Carrie Preisano adding her skills to the mix.

According to Priscilla Thors, “This is a great night out for the ladies.  It’s the perfect time to come together after the summer and catch-up on what’s happening with the kids, families and friends.”  Robin Axness, the library’s development director agreed, “It’s such a relaxing way to spend an evening with friends … and everyone benefits – guests get to enjoy themselves and the library receives funding for programs and services from the proceeds.”

This year’s festivities include music by the Darren Litzie Duo, an old-fashioned photo booth for friends and neighbors to capture fun moments, and terrific auction items.  Selections such as a cooking experience for adults with Food Network’s “Chopped” winning contestant and Wilton teacher Heather Priest, a Princess Birthday Party, a Chez Lenard hot dog truck birthday party, fine jewelry, hair and nail salon gift certificates and themed neighborhood baskets brimming with goodies are just some of the tantalizing offers just waiting to be scooped up.

Tickets for the evening are $50 per person and may be purchased online at www.wiltonlibrary.org or by calling Jennifer Wallace at 203-762-3950, ext. 239.  The library will close at 6 p.m. to prepare for the evening’s festivities.  Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Road in the heart of Wilton Center.
