An accomplished singer-songwriter who plays the harp, piano, guitar and harmonica, New Jersey’s own Southside Johnny is critically acclaimed for his singing talents and ability to adapt his voice to any song. Johnny (real name John Lyon) got his nickname because of his love of the blues and R & B that came out of Chicago’s South Side.  He is considered by some to be the godfather of the New Jersey sound, and Johnny has recorded twenty albums and performed in thousands of live sold-out shows around the globe in a career that spans more than three decades.   He recorded “The Fever”, which Bruce Springsteen wrote and gave to his friend Johnny to record.  It was on this song that Johnny built his rock career.

Having collaborated with other New Jersey artists such as Steven Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny has a soul all his own. At his live shows, he plays hits from his albums This time It's For Real,Havin' A Party With Southside Johnny, At Least We Got Shoes, Going to Jukesville and Pills and Ammo.
