What sounds more like summer than steel drums? You can hear the sweet sounds of Wilton Steel on Tuesday June 30 from 6-8:30 in Wilton center on the outdoor patio at Wilton Pizza. The sound carries to Marly's Bar and Bistro patio as well. Wilton Steel is Wilton's own community steel drum band, founded by Arthur Lipner; find out more about us on facebook.com/wiltonsteel. This is our 5th year of playing on the patio at Wilton Pizza on Tuesday evenings, and we play a wide variety of music including Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Funk, Latin, Pop, and Jazz from the '40s through today's current hits. Be sure to stop by and say "Hi" and learn about the mechanics of steel drums. We are always looking for new bandmates, and additional opportunities to play.
In case of inclement weather, call Wilton Pizza at 203.762.0007 to make sure the band is playing. Rain and metal, wooden and electrical instruments and amplifiers do not mix well.
