Broadway and Connecticut Artists to Perform Benefit Concert

Stars from Broadway and Summer Theatre of New Canaan will perform in A Night Of Stars In Concert July 27th to benefit the Summer Theatre of New Canaan and support their successful arts education programs. Broadway, Regional and local professional artists will be performing popular Broadway show tunes. Also sharing the stage will be members of the Summer Theatre Junior Company and Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan. “The STARS Concert is always a highlight of our summer season” explains Melody Meitrott Libonati, Artistic Director. “Our company and community are so appreciative to the fabulous talent and generosity these musical theatre artists share with us”.

A Night of Stars in Concert will be presented by the Summer Theatre of New Canaan in their modern open-air tent theatre in Waveny Park. A 7PM pre-show wine reception is open to benefit ticket holders. The concert begins at 8 PM followed by a post-show reception with the evening’s stars and Board of Trustees. A live-auction will also be conducted.

Summer Theatre of New Canaan’s 2015 season is in full swing with it’s critically acclaimed professional main stage production of Legally Blonde, The Musical on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sundays at 4pm through August 9th. Theatre reviewers have called this production “Better than Broadway” (Susan Granger) and “A Perfect Summer Show” (Gary Danihy). For families and young audiences, the summer theatre presents in repertory season classic favorites, Charlotte’s Web and the Wizard of Oz and a new musical premiere of Cinderella. All shows perform on Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons through August 9 at Waveny Park, in New Canaan CT.

Tickets for A Night of Stars in Concert start at $35. They, along with tickets for all season shows are available online at www.stonc.org, by calling the STONC Box Office at 203-966-4634 (M-F 11 am – 4pm), or by email at boxoffice@stonc.org. Tickets are also available one-hour prior to each show at the Waveny Tent Theater box office. Stage-side picnic tables available for show or pre-show dining and parties. Convenient free parking. The Summer Theatre of New Canaan, a 501c3 non profit theatre company is now in its 12th year and produces professional musicals, theatre for young audience shows and has developed professional educational programs including College Internships, High School Theatre Intensives, a Middle School Junior Company and their award winning DramaRamas (musical theatre program for students with special needs).
