Music on the Hill Christmas: Jubilate Ringers and Festival Chorus

Join Music on the Hill for a traditional Christmas concert of the Jubilate Ringers handbell choir and Festival Chorus performing distinctive carols and Christmas songs, with favorite carols sung by all.

The ringers will premiere Noël, a suite of French carols arranged for handbells by Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson, the concert's conductor. The suite includes English and American handbells; handchimes; and a "little something" unexpected! The ringers will also perform the dramatic and hauntingly beautiful "Change Ring Prelude on Divinium Mysterium" and will add their festive tones to familiar carols.

The Festival Chorus will sing several early German carols; arrangements of carols by American composers William Billings and Charles Ives; and a group of carols about Christmas bells, including a setting of the Tennyson poem "Ring Out Wild Bells" by contemporary composer Linda Dowdell.
