Tomorrow Wilton Go Green Presents: Climate Change 101 with Jeff Howard

LA - WGG/WLA Green Speaker Series: Climate Change 101 with Jeff Howard
Wednesday February 10, 2016
7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Brubeck Room
February's Green Speaker Talk will review the basis for climate scientists’ mounting concern about humanity’s destabilization of the global climate system. It will consider how the recent Paris accord addresses this destabilization. It will briefly consider the destabilization’s implications for Connecticut — and how the state is responding. And it will provide a social scientist’s perspective on all of this.

Jeff Howard is an interdisciplinary social scientist whose training and research have focused on the political dimensions of humanity’s haphazard technological intervention in natural systems. Trained at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he was a visiting scholar at New York University and has taught environmental policy and related matters at the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and New Jersey Polytechnic Institute. He is an analyst in the State of Connecticut’s Office of Climate Change.
