WCHN Offers Health Seminar on Food as Medicine at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA

“Food as Medicine” is the topic of discussion in the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) Health Seminar presented by the Riverbrook Regional YMCA and WCHN Healthy Living Partnership. The free preventive health and wellness program is open to the community and takes place on March 8, at 7 pm in the Activity Center at the Riverbrook Regional YMCA located at 404 Danbury Road in Wilton.

Featured speaker Dr. Yufang Lin, Integrative Medicine physician expert from the Western Connecticut Medical Group will discuss some of the most common triggers of illness and examine food as a therapeutic option to help the body heal and work better.  In addition, she will talk about what foods to choose, what foods to avoid, organic vs. conventional farming, and more.  

About the Speaker

Dr. Yufang Lin, MD, FACP, FAAP, ABIHM, received her medical degree from New York Medical College, completed her combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics training at University of Connecticut, School of Medicine and received her board certification in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She believes in the intrinsic healing power of the human body and that to treat disease, we need to look at the root cause.  She received training in Fellowship of Integrative Medicine, Herbal Medicine, Qigong Healing, Reiki, Functional Medicine, Homeopathy, and more.  She integrates all of those modalities into a personalized treatment plan for people who are interested in approaching their health in a Holistic and Integrative manner.
