Southwest Cafe to Celebrate 30 Years at Margarita 5K on Saturday!

Evening Race and Margaritas Benefit Sunrise Cottage on July 29

The Southwest Café’s Margarita 5K benefitting Sunrise Cottage is happening on July 29 at 7 pm. The Margarita 5K has quickly become a favorite, proclaimed a “must-do local race” by Competitor magazine. The Saturday evening race provides a wonderful night out, with Southwest Café and surrounding restaurants providing a healthful night out. Adult finishers will receive a margarita at the post-race party at Copps Hill Common, with a live band playing in front of Southwest Café.

“In Southwest Café’s 30th year, I am thrilled to bring the Margarita 5K back for its 11th year. The evening race kicks-off with John Andrew Moomaw, a Sunrise Cottage resident singing Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville song. The opportunity to recognize The Sunrise Cottage, a place where developmentally disabled residents live close to their families and are actively connected to the Ridgefield community they have grown to know and love. It’s a win-win for everyone”, says Barb Nevins, Southwest Café’s owner.

Registration for the Southwest Café Margarita 5K is available now at www.southwestcafe.com. The race is filling quickly and may close before race day. This fast, friendly course is a fan favorite with its festive tech tees and post-race party. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finisher. The top three runners in nine age groups will also receive a Southwest Cafe margarita glass commemorating the restaurant’s 30th anniversary.
