Wilton Dance Studio Competition Company Auditions TONIGHT!

Are you ready for a great new year of dance? Wilton Dance Studio is, and we can't wait to share some exciting updates and changes with you. Here's the first one:

Have you heard? We are starting two dance Competition Teams this year! One for dancers ages 9 years (by January 2015) though 12 years, and one for dancers 13 years and up.

AUDITIONS ARE WEDNESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 27TH!

9 - 12 years: 8/27 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm

13+ years: 8/ 27 @ 7:30 - 9:00 pm

Requirements: Currently enrolled at WDS in at least one ballet class per week and one other qualifying style of dance class (Jazz, Modern, Contemporary or Lyrical).

WDS Competition Companies are for those dancers who love to dance. Dancers will compete regionally at area competitions and perform within the community in dance styles such as Lyrical, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Tap. Our goals for the Competition Company are to provide additional performance opportunities, inspire our current students with exposure to other like minded dancers and receive observations from outside professionals.Placement on this team is by Audition Only.

Additional costs for the team will include costumes, tights, and dance shoes specific to the style of dance being performed. Information on performance dates and entry fee costs can be obtained by contacting the front desk. Dress Code: Black leotard, tan tights and tan jazz boots (a low pull on style jazz shoe). Jazz or yoga pants or dance shorts may be worn. Additionally comfortable form fitting clothing may be worn.

Competition Company ongoing class day & time:

Competition Company 9 - 12 years - Tuesday 8:00 - 9:00 pm

Competition Company 13+ years - Wednesday 8:00 - 9:00 pm

If you have not already enrolled for this or other dance classes, it's not too late! Open House is this week - Thursday & Friday from 1 - 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm.
