Free Yoga Course for Cancer Survivors

Om for Life : A Yoga Course for Cancer Survivors

Mondays at 6:45pm

(six 1-hour sessions)

April 13 to May 18, 2015

The shala is pleased to offer a free introductory course in the practice of yoga to cancer survivors in Ridgefield and the surrounding communities.

We recognize that each survivor is on a journey...a road to recovery and wellness.  Our hope is that an experience of yoga, mindful breathing and meditation will be a powerful personal guide along this road.  Yogic practices bring strength, stamina, mental clarity and self-awareness. All of these empower the student to be an active participant in their own health and wellness.  We are honored and delighted to be a part of Om for Life. If you, or someone you know is a cancer survivor (recently or far removed from treatment) please join us. No yoga practice experience is necessary to participate.

We often hear from people that they do not know how to begin a yoga practice, are not sure if they are flexible enough or strong enough...Sri K Pattabhi Jois stressed that EVERYONE CAN PRACTICE! We'd like to show you how.

The course is free and offered to all interested cancer survivors through a grant from the

CT Center for Survivorship.

Registration is limited to 15 students

Register via email at info@theyogashalact.com

Om for Life™ is a program of the CT Challenge, a non-profit devoted to helping cancer survivors rebuild, improve and prolong their lives through fitness, nutrition, community support and lifestyle programs tailored to their unique needs. It is a natural extension of the wellness programs offered by the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship in Southport, CT, the only standalone survivorship center in the country and an incubator for best practices that will set the model for survivorship programs nationwide.
