Bridgeport Child and Family Guidance Center is pleased to announce that Michael D. Patota, MSW, MS will join the organization as the new President/CEO on April 13, 2015. Michael has dedicated over 30 years to the clinical social services field. In his most recent position with United Services, Inc. (USI), he was the Division Director of Clinical Services for over 14 years. He was responsible for leading and managing USI’s comprehensive array of outpatient behavioral health services including the Child Guidance Clinic, Adult Behavioral Health, Emergency Services, Mobile Outreach and Employee Assistance. His senior leadership skills also include financial management, the continuity of program and compliance direction, quality improvement and organizational development. He brings a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Nonprofit Management to the organization.
The Board of Directors hired Third Sector New England to lead an extensive professional search process and provide interim executive services. The Transition Committee narrowed the search from 49 applicants to 16 for phone interviews. Six finalists received second interviews and three finalists third interviews with the full committee. The final candidate met with the staff in early March at the Center prior to recommendation for selection. On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, Michael officially accepted the offer of President/CEO extended by the Board of Directors.
Jeannette Archer-Simons will continue to direct the agency as Interim CEO/President until Michael’s official start date. Her service through the Third Sector New England Interim Program has provided invaluable guidance and support. She will assure there is a seamless transition to the new leadership on April 13th.
