Local Author & Internet Pioneer Talks "Health Attitude"

Dr. John Patrick is not just on a book tour, he's on a mission

Who doesn’t want better health? It’s of paramount importance to us and to our families. We are all dependent on the healthcare system to help us maintain our health. Many, including doctors, agree that our system could be better. One Ridgefielder is looking beyond the typical answers, and instead believes improved healthcare for all can be achieved with a better “Health Attitude”.

“The solution includes a new health attitude of patients, providers, payers, and policymakers,” explains Internet pioneer and author, Dr. John R. Patrick.

John is president of Attitude LLC. He is not just on a book tour, he’s on a mission: to change America’s attitude toward healthcare.

As Vice President for Internet Technology at IBM, a founding member of the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT, and a founding member and past chairman of the Global Internet Project, Patrick knows a thing or two about the Internet. “Our inability to harness the full power of the Internet has much less to do with the technology itself than with the cultural and psychological barriers that straitjacket our thinking about it,” he proclaims.

How we think about it. Think about that. Patrick wants us to embrace the Internet, use it, and allow it to be the change we want to see in the world. Enter his book:  Health Attitude: Unraveling and Solving the Complexity of Healthcare. Can healthcare be safer? Systematically more efficient? How about the cost of healthcare?  Patrick provides a revealing look at the cultural, attitudinal, and technological barriers holding back the United States from achieving a more affordable, accessible, and effective healthcare system.

Signed copies of Patrick’s book are available at Books on the Common in Ridgefield.
