Cooking Class, Fruits of the Garden,Making the Most Tender Spring Greens

It’s time to celebrate feasts from a bountiful garden and The Garden of Ideas in Ridgefield will inaugurate spring and those long awaited fresh greens with their new series of cooking classes. Beginning Saturday, May 2 from 1 - 2:30pm, Fruits of the Garden, Making the Most of Tender Spring Greens will be the first of their garden oriented cooking classes. Chef Susie Buckley will share her light handed ideas on the various ways to take those sought after salads to a new level. This is not about your Iceberg lettuce but instead learn how to use the various and sometimes unusual greens which appear with the seasons. Chef Buckley will also offer tasty and good-for-you salad dressings with take home copies of all the recipes. And yes, there will be tastings of all the salads. These classes are for adults and children, 8 years old and older. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $25 per adult with children free. The Garden of Ideas is a non-profit garden sanctuary located at 653 North Salem Road, Ridgefield, CT. The gardens are open daily, 8am until dusk, to visit.  There is no fee to tour the grounds.
