One of Westport’s favorite restaurant announced today that they are launching a multi-item product line, which includes pasta sauces, specialty items, and their award winning Italian Caponta.
We asked owner Juan Ceballos why, after 15 years in business in NYC and Westport, he decided to launch a product line now.
JC: For 15 years customers have been asking me to package our Caponata and sauces. A number of retailers recently approached me to private label them, and while that sounded great, I was worried about quality – so I decided now was the time to start the product line.
Ceballos stated that "Westport has people with a very sophisticated palate, they travel the world and they will not only know when something is off, they will tell you."
One of Arezzo's international fans, food writer Jennifer DeRycker, finds the quality evident. “It goes without saying that Arezzo is one of the best restaurants in Westport”, says DeRycker, who is the former academic director of Le Cordon Bleu and chef d’cuisine at the American Embassy in Paris. “Every time I go to Westport, I make it a point to dine there. The meal always begins with the Caponata. It’s the brightest, most flavorful Caponata I’ve tasted in the world. I am thrilled I will now be able to purchase it.”
How will these differ from whats served in the restaurant? "
JC: The products will be made using the same fresh ingredients used to prepare them at the restaurant. I could have farmed the recipes out to a co-pack, but to make sure only the finest ingredients are used, we had to maintain full control of the preparation, and production.
The line will launch at an invitation only event at Arezzo July 9th at 6pm.
Arezzo Authentic Italian Fine Foods will be available at retailers in the tri-state area this summer and launch nationally this Fall.
