Is it ever too late to date? In an effort to show that love has no age limit, the community is invited to attend a free movie screening of THE AGE OF LOVE. This new documentary follows the illuminating adventures of 30 older adults who attend a first-of-its-kind Speed Dating event exclusively for 70- to 90-year-olds. Presented by SilverSource, Inc. and the Stamford Senior Center, this alternately poignant and funny film will be shown on Friday, February 19th from 2-4pm in the Franklin Auditorium at the Stamford Senior Center, located at 888 Washington Blvd., Stamford, CT. Refreshments will be served, and after the film eligible attendees will be encouraged to sign up for Senior Speed Dating, which will be held on Friday, March 11. To save your spot at the film screening, send an email to ccrain@stamfordct.gov or call 203-977-5151.
“This ground-breaking film is appealing to everyone,” said Christina Crain, Executive Director of the Stamford Senior Center. “The seniors that appear in THE AGE OF LOVE are just as nervous about dating at this stage of life as they were for their first date. By understanding this generation before the Baby Boomers, we will find lessons for us all.”
“Older adults still want to make connections and have relationships,” said Kathleen Bordelon, Executive Director of SilverSource, Inc. “By presenting this touching, comical and truly entertaining film, as well as a hosting a local Speed Dating event, we’re challenging the stereotypes of people in the autumn of their lives.”
