Sister Dolores Ferry, of Wilton's School Sisters of Notre Dame, has passed at 87

Sister Dolores Ferry (Sister Mary Lurana), a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died on April 25, 2016 at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT. Dolores was born on February 15, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Daniel Ferry and Adelaide Brady Ferry.

Sister is survived by her nephew, John, and his wife, Gail, NY; her sister-in-law, Sarah, GA; family members and friends and her community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame.

Sister taught in Elkridge, MD; Most Holy Redeemer, NYC; St. Leo, Irvington, NJ; St. Joseph, Garden City, NJ; St. Anselm, NYC. For many years, she was a computer teacher and coordinator for schools in Long Island, Brooklyn and Staten Island. She retired at Villa Notre Dame, Wilton, CT, in 2015.

Friends may call at Villa Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Road in Wilton, CT, on Thursday, April 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Christian wake service at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Villa Notre Dame. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel, CT.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bracken-Donovan-Spodnick of Bridgeport.
