September Sing: Join Fairfield County Chorale!

SEP 11: SEPTEMBER SING  ~ Fairfield County Chorale’s annual end-of-summer tradition

If you’ve ever wished you could hear your voice alongside 100 others and the richness of a full orchestra — trumpets, timpani, and all — you might think about joining the Fairfield County Chorale, now in its 54th year. Want to try it out first? Their September Sing is for you! On Sunday, September 11th at 4:00 p.m., join the chorale and its music director at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport, CT.

Spend a joyous and relaxing late summer afternoon singing selections from two stunning Requiems, Giuseppe Verdi’s soaring operatic masterwork and Gabriel Fauré’s introspective and haunting version; both featured in the upcoming concert season. Meet and socialize with members of the chorale and their dynamic music director, Maestro David Rosenmeyer. Enjoy conversation over wine and refreshments, and maybe even stay for an informal audition afterwards!

“September Sing is a wonderful tradition. We have a chance to warm up our voices, introduce the new season, and welcome new members. And what could be better than singing glorious music together?”

 — David Rosenmeyer

The Fairfield County Chorale has 100-plus members and sings regularly with professional orchestras. The Chorale has presented a number of local, U.S., and world premieres, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. A recent partnership has brought the Chorale to perform regularly with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro William Boughton.

Music for the September Sing can be rented at the door for a $10 donation, or bring your own. Rehearsals for the FCC’s 54th season begin on Monday, September 13th at 7:30pm in the Mary McCarthy Room at Norwalk City Hall.
