Auditions in Wilton for a summer play

Interested in acting or stage directing an original play this summer? Auditions for cast and crew for a stage production of "A Trip to the Symphony," an original play by me, Riley Meachem, will be held on June 4th and 5th in the Wilton Playshop from 6-9.

We are currently trying to fill the roles of three male speaking parts ages 18-55, with actors who have at least some experience with theater. We also need one lighting tech, one sound tech, and a stage manager, and possibly one or two extra crew members.

The play revolves around a closeted homosexual police chief, Titus Wellington, in the 1950's, and his attempts to out and incriminate a former lover who has rejected him. To do so, he calls upon an old war buddy, Ben, now a bitter and unsuccessful Private investigator, to catch his ex, a well-known composer and conductor named Johann, in a compromising position. Things get complicated when this task awakens latent emotions in Ben, causing him to question his ethics, values, masculinity, and sexual identity.

If you are interested in being a part of this production, please come to 15 Lover's Lane in Wilton, CT from 6-9 on June 4th or 5th, with a potential callback/ make-up day on the 7th, or you can e-mail me at rmeachem@conncoll.edu, or text/call me at (203)-241-9505.

Please note that the play strong language, violence, sexual situations, and disturbing and upsetting scenarios. Because of this, and the fact that this is a college-level production, auditions open to adults, college students, or graduating high school seniors.
