Local Mom Launches Nutmeg Kitchen & Offers Summer Classes for Kids

Nutmeg Kitchen Announces Launch of Company and Summer Cooking Classes for Kids

New Canaan, CT, June 27, 2017 – Nutmeg Kitchen LLC is excited to announce its company launch, initially starting with a series of kids cooking classes over the summer months. The official launch date is July 1st, with the first kids class scheduled for Wednesday, July 5th.

Nutmeg Kitchen LLC is owned and operated by Megan Morales, a local, proud mom-of-three who is passionate about good, healthy food for you and your family. During a ten-year career in advertising and media, she felt a strong calling for something more and decided to attend culinary school at night. After successfully completing her training at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC with a focus on Pastry and Baking Arts, Megan fulfilled her externship at Union Square Cafe. Fast forward many years, a marriage and three kids, and she is ready to share her passion with her students and their families.

While her training utilized traditional ingredients like white flour and white sugar, Megan prefers working with healthier, whole-food, organic ingredients. She loves to test grain-free, raw, vegan, and other alternative recipes that are just as delicious as their conventional counterparts, only better for you.

Nutmeg Kitchen’s summer cooking classes will be offered for ages 2-4 (with a caregiver) from 9:30 – 11am and ages 5-13 (drop-off) from 3-5pm. Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in July and August and will be held at Fiddleheads Cooking Studio at 24 Westchester Avenue in Pound Ridge, NY. A wide variety of dishes will be prepared and tasted by the children, with the hope that they will not only try something new, but expand their palates and set up healthier eating habits to last a lifetime.
