David B. Brandon, 64, of Wilton, formerly of Danbury, died on Monday, September 11, 2017 unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

David was born in Danbury, August 12, 1953, a son of the late Oscar and Dolores (DeMond) Brandon.

He attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School and attended Western CT State University.

A lifelong area resident, he was a former vice-president of the Danbury Chapter of the NAACP and attended New Hope Baptist Church.

At the time of his passing, Davis was a director of training with LA Fitness of Norwalk.

An exercise enthusiast, he was an avid runner and enjoyed weight lifting.

He is survived by three sisters, Dolores Brandon Lewis and Eleanor Brandon both of Danbury and Barbara Brandon of Washington, DC; four brothers, Oscar “Woodie” Brandon of Derwood, MD, Richard Brandon and his wife Viviane of Corona, CA. Ronald Brandon and his wife Karen of New Jersey and Geams Brandon and his wife Naomi of Shelton, CT; his “special girl” Linda Artis of Wilton and her son whom he regarded as his son Jayden Artis; godchildren DeMaine Dillard and Shardee Brandon; nieces and nephews, special friends and friends too numerous to mention.

He will be sorely missed.

Home going services will take place on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 12 noon in the New Hope Baptist Church, 12 Aaron Samuels Blvd., Danbury with Rev. Leroy G. Parker officiating.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends in the New Hope Baptist Church, Danbury on Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
