New Paradigm Theatre excited to announce partnership with New York City Children’s Theatre!

New Paradigm Theatre (www.nptheatre.org) is excited to announce a partnership with New York City Children’s Theatre!

New York City Children’s Theater is seeking short plays from some of the most talented playwrights in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut: Middle School Students!

The New York City Children’s Theater Middle School Playwriting Competition is designed to give blossoming young playwrights a platform to find their voice while exploring the issues that affect their lives.

To participate, students in grades 6-8 will write an original, entertaining and enriching 10-minute play based on this year’s theme: How do we use technology to connect with others?

As the Grand Prize, the two theaters will produce a staged reading of the plays, performed by professional actors and New Paradigm Theatre youth on Theatre Row in May of 2018. Another weekend of the staged Readings will be performed with Broadway pros and NPT youth in CT the following weekend.

Rules

• You must currently be a middle school student (grades 6-8) living in New York City, New Jersey or Connecticut to participate.

• You must submit a permission slip, signed by a parent or guardian, with your play to be considered.
