Bailey’s Backyard Chef Named One of 2014’s Most Innovative

Bailey’s Backyard Executive Chef Forrest Pasternack has been named one of the “2014’s Most Innovative Chefs,” by Serendipity, a lifestyle publication focusing on Fairfield and Westchester Counties. He and 13 other area chefs will serve a tasting menu at Serendipity’s Greenwich 2014 Wine + Food Festival, during the Most Innovative Chefs Gala on Friday, September 26. They will be joined by celebrity chefs Geoffrey Zakarian and Jean-Georges, among others.

Mr. Pasternack says that for the tasting he will prepare herbed ricotta gnocchi with white truffle powder and Jerusalem artichokes as well as home-made bacon and dulce de leche donuts. Both items are new to the autumn menu at Bailey’s, located at 23 Bailey Avenue in Ridgefield. He has been its executive chef since April 2013, when owner Sal Bagliavio transformed Bailey’s to a farm-to-table restaurant.

The three-day Food + Wine Festival takes place September 25-27 in Greenwich’s Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Ticket sales benefit Paul Newman’s The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. For ticket information go to greenwichwineandfood.com.
