The Levitt Pavilion Celebrates the Music of Billy Joel

You may be right – we may be crazy – but this will be the last blast at the Levitt Pavilion you’ve been looking for!  On Saturday, November 1st the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts will light up one more time this year to present Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot and an afternoon celebrating the music of Billy Joel.  This special ticketed benefit event -- made possible by the generous support of Lead Sponsor Tiffany & Co. and Sponsor Honda of Westport -- gives the community a highly anticipated opportunity to become “Big Shots” themselves and support the ongoing “Because Summer Lives Here” Campaign in support of the New Levitt Pavilion while “fall-ing” in love with the Levitt Pavilion all over again.

Big Shot is the only authorized Billy Joel tribute band in the world and lead singer/pianist Mike DelGuidice, along with other Big Shot bandmates, are actual members of Billy Joel’s touring band.  Mike & Big Shot perform all of Billy Joel’s greatest hits and even some of the lesser known tunes that only a true die-hard would know and appreciate. The true Billy Joel fan will be blown away after experiencing Big Shot live. On any given night they will also astonish you with songs in their set from other artists like, Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Beatles, Journey, some others and songs from Michael’s original CDs.

True Billy Joel fans will be excited to know that this tour is featuring members of Billy Joel’s band – including current members Guitarist Tommy Byrnes, Drummer Chuck Burgi and the newest member of Billy Joel's Band, Mike DelGuidice.  Tommy has been with Billy for the last twenty-five years to present, and Chuck has been Billy’s drummer since 2005. In addition Chuck is an original cast member of Billy Joel's Broadway musical “Movin’ Out” Band. While playing the final shows of “Movin’ Out”, Chuck was approached by Billy Joel to join him for a world tour. Since then, Chuck has continued performing sold out shows throughout the world with The Piano Man.

Billy Joel has hired front-man Mike DelGuidice of the Billy Joel Tribute band "Big Shot" to join his band for all his dates including all of Billy Joel’s iconic Madison Square Garden dates. When performing Billy Joel’s music, he is a dead ringer sound alike.  He even had Billy himself fooled…

He kicked off The US dates with Billy Joel New Years Eve at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn and continues to tour with Billy on all the US dates.  Mike is a well known Long Island Musician/ Singer/Songwriter.  He has released 2 of his own original CDs.

Also joining them is John Scarpulla, original cast member of Billy Joel's Broadway musical “Movin’ Out” Band. John has recently been on tour with Diana Ross and Huey Lewis. John is back from the tours and back with Mike and the band.  The other members of the band are: Bassist Nick Dimichino the quintessential addition to the rhythm section, Nick is also an original member of the Band Nine Days. Nine Days released their debut album, The Madding Crowd, in 2000 on SONY 550 Music. The band scored a #1 hit in the United States from the album The Madding Crowd, with the single "(Absolutely (Story of a Girl)".
