Big restaurant news in Ridgefield: SURCRÉ SALÉ and Quiche Me is opening TODAY in the space formerly occupied by The Cutting Board, 109 Danbury Road!
The Marketplace at Copps Hill is a huge foodie destination with established shopping venues like No. 109 Cheese & Wine Market, Ridgefield Organics and Specialty Market, Ridgefield Prime and Ross' Bread, along with restaurants Southwest Café and Bartolo; so it only makes sense that French chef Frank Bonnaudet and his wife is Virginie Kahrouby open a new breakfast and lunch restaurant, SURCRÉ SALÉ and Quiche Me. Decadent crepes (both sweet and savory), delicious quiches, soups, sandwiches, mussels and more, along with coffee, cappuccinos and lattes will be offered, but the menu is too delightful to fully mention and must be viewed to see that this really is a true French café in the heart of "foodie Ridgefield."
Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. with fresh crepes and croissants, egg dishes, including Eggs Benedict, and more. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 p.m. with savory crepes with many different fillings, quiches, authentic Croque Monsieurs and Madame, along with other sandwiches, salads and mussels. And don't forget that after-school snack or an afternoon pick-me-up, sweet crepes filled with Nutella, chocolate, fruit, caramel and more, along with hot chocolates.
For fans of the recently closed Sagi Cucina Italiana, Sabrina Hebert, the former owner, is the new wait staff manager at SURCRÉ SALÉ and Quiche Me. And we are sure, her familiar face will be as welcoming, accommodating and lovely on Danbury Road as she was on Catoonah Street! Ridgefielder Kristen McNamara of Just Desserts by Kristin Mc is the catering manager and Redding's Limekiln Hill Farm will be supplying organic eggs... one of the must-haves at a French café.
