Andrea Silver Joins the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County's Board of Directors

The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is pleased to announce that Andrea Silver has joined its Board of Directors. Elisabeth Morten, President of the Board of Directors, stated, “Andrea's knowledge and experience will make her an invaluable addition to our board and we are pleased to welcome her to the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.”  Andrea is a Weston resident and, aside from operating her own Health and Fitness firm, Pilates on Lilac, she has extensive experience serving as a nonprofit development professional with a variety of organizations, including the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, and Save the Children.

While Director of Development at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Andrea successfully completed a significant capital campaign, helped build the donor base and membership, expanded grant programs, and implemented special events. While Associate Director of Development at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Andrea developed the organization’s first corporate partnership program, as well as supervised the Aquarium’s Raiser’s Edge database system. She also has experience managing cause-related marketing programs while working as a manager of campaigns and events at Save the Children, then located in Westport.  She also served as Director of the New Hampshire MacDowell Celebration, in Concord, New Hampshire, which required coordination of a state-wide cultural celebration based on the art and artists of the MacDowell Colony, consisting of more than 50 arts organizations. Andrea also has business experience in public relations, marketing and account management with Madison Square Garden, Warwick Advertising in New York, as well as at the Currier Gallery of Art in New Hampshire.

Andrea is a dedicated volunteer, serving on the Friends Committee of the Neighborhood Studios of Fairfield County, a nonprofit organization that offers innovative after-school and summer arts programs to students from kindergarten through post-high school in Bridgeport and its surrounding towns.

The mission of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is to support the cultural organizations, artists, individuals and creative businesses, which make up this vital sector, by providing promotion, services, and advocacy.
