Summer Camp Play at the Garden Table, for girls and boys.
Does your family include a 5 to 8 year-old who loves the great outdoors? Who leaps at the chance for creative, hands-on activities? Whom you might even suspect of having a green thumb or a chef's palate? Ridgefield's The Garden of Ideas half-day camp calls all young explorers to join them this summer.
Campers will play in the garden's micro-environments – marsh, meadow and woodlands – focusing on what they see, taste, smell, feel and hear. With a variety of hands on activities, no matter the weather, campers will engage in gardening, cooking, arts-and-crafts as well as exploring the garden sanctuary. They will also experience visits from community experts leading a host of adventures about the environment, nature and the many creatures who inhabit this unique open space. With The Garden of Ideas as their playground campers are insured of a fun, lively and unique summertime experience. Catch a frog, dig in the garden and make a wonderful meal. It might be the best summer fun of all.
Two sessions will be offered: the first from July 6-17, 9am-12pm and the second, July 20-31, 9am-12 pm. The cost for the two week session is $450 with siblings receiving a $50 discount.
