Western Connecticut State University Assistant Professor of Music Jamie Begian will serve as the interim Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts beginning July 1.
After 25 years in progressive leadership at WCSU, the SVPA Dean Dr. Dan Goble is leaving the university to accept a position as the Director of the School of Music, Theater and Dance at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Begian, who also serves as chair of the Department of Music and Jazz Studies Program coordinator, has been a full-time faculty member at the university since 2005.
As an educator, Begian has a long track record of dedicated involvement in the development and progress of his students. Enthusiastic about music and dedicated to his craft, Begian commands attention in a variety of settings, making him an excellent candidate to lead the SVPA until a new dean has been selected.
