Wenjie Lu's program will include Chopin's Preludes Op. 28 and Rachmaninoff's Sonata No. 2 Op. 36 (1931 version).

Born in Qingdao, China, Wenjie Lu began playing the piano at the age of five and made his concerto debut in 2005. Wenjie was the state winner of MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition in 2011 and won first prize at the Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition in 2015. His artistry has carried him to venues in Europe, Asia and America, including a solo recital debut in Carnegie Weill Hall. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Capital University with Dr. Tianshu Wang and Master’s degree from Eastman School of Music. He is currently a candidate for a Doctoral of Musical Art degree in piano performance and literature at Eastman, studying with Professor Barry Snyder.
