Chef Michael Trimarchi.

Tucked inside the Stamford Hotel and Spa is Sam’s Restaurant, a first-class eatery that just welcomed one of Manhattan’s finest chefs.  Appointed as Culinary Director just four months ago, Chef Michael Trimarchi, hails from world-class culinary stock.

You might say Tirmarchi was born a foodie. His passion for fine cuisine  stems from childhood summers in Italy where his family taught him how to make olive oil, pasta, cakes, and sauces.

After attending The Art Institute of New York City, Tirmarchi rolled up the sleeves of his chef coat and began working in some of NYC’s most innovative restaurants including Felidia and Reno’s Trattoria.

As his career progressed, so did  Trimarchi’s role in the industry. Prior to coming to the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa, he was the Executive Sous Chef at The Plaza Hotel, and worked at The Helmsley Park Lane Hotel, and Hotel Plaza Athenee.

“Over the course of my career I have used each position I have tackled to hone my own personal culinary philosophy, which has led me to a working style that hopefully, inspires and challenges my staff,” says  Trimarchi.
