August Happenings at Wilton YMCA: Yoga, Swimming, & More!

Wilton YMCA has a LOT going on this August. Let's take a plunge into their activities for the remainder of the summer...

Yoga at the Pond: Every Sunday morning from now until August 27th, wake up right by joining a group of beginners to more experienced yogi's. This event will be held at 8:30am, and participants are asked to bring their own mat and towel. For more information, call Mary Ann Genuario at 203-762-8384 x282.

Take the Plunge!: There are extra lanes available for use at YMCA! The extra lap lanes are available in the 50M pool from August 1st to August 20th. Click here for times.

Early Fall Class Registration: Member online registration for early fall classes begins on Monday, August 14th at 9am, with registration open to the general public on Monday, August 21st at 9am. The early fall session will run from Tuesday, Sept. 5th to Saturday, Nov. 4th, including swimming, gymnastics, archery, fitness, dance, outreach, and much more!. The late fall classes begin on Wednesday, Nov. 8th, with registration beginning on Monday, October 23rd. Go to wiltonymca.org to learn more.

New Aquatics Programming: Parent/Child aquatic classes are now being included in family memberships! These new classes included a completely revamped program at all levels, smaller class ratios, well-organized class times, and the option of private or semi-private lessons. Furthermore, family's can use the promo code FAMSAV when registering for parent/child aquatic classes to save $144! Early Fall registration begins on Monday, August 14th at 9am. Health Weight and Your Child Program: This year-long, evidence based program was created for children 7-13 with a body mass index of 95th percentile or higher. The program aims to use evidence to educate children on healthy eating, and empower them to take care of themselves and their bodies throughout their lives. Children must have clearance from a health provider or school nurse, and parents must be in attendance at each class. The program includes 16 weekly sessions followed by post core sessions for the rest of the year. 2017-2018 Nursery School: Registration is open for this upcoming year with limited spots available! This program includes swimming classes, sports, music, and zumba/yoga. All are available to children ages 2-5, excluding swimming which is only available to children ages 3-5. Offered with no additional charge are an extended lunch option for 2-year-olds, two extended day options for 3-year-olds (flexible pick-up times), and two extended day options for Kindergarten Readiness with Pre-K students are 4-year-olds (flexible pick-up times). Furthermore, the curriculum includes Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards from the YMCA of the USA, Connecticut's Early Learning & Development Standards, and CATCH- Coordinated Approach To Child Health Trained Staff. Contact Kim Murphy at 762-8384 x214 kmurphy@riverbrookymca.org for more information.

Parent's Night Out: On Friday, September 22nd for one night only, parents can leave their children with YMCA while they go out for a night of their own! Kids will enjoy pizza, board games, crafts, soft play gym, and movies. This is open for children ages 3 1/2 to 10 (must be potty trained). This event is available to Wilton YMCA members only. Cost is $30 for the first kid and $5 for each additional kid. Each child must be registered separately. Click here to register.
