Trackside Teen Center offers programs for teen gamers

For the past three years, Wilton teens have been congregating at Trackside Teen Center after school on Fridays to play their favorite games and socialize with their fellow gamers.  To encourage students to continue seeking more social interaction instead of playing on their own at home, Trackside hosts the Gamer Club which is open to teens free of charge. Gamer Club takes place on Fridays after school when teens can gather in a safe setting to socialize with other gamers.

While participating in Gamer Club, teens have an opportunity to follow their passion for gaming while they learn how to cooperate with their peers, demonstrate sportsmanship, and problem solve among themselves. The club members take part in deciding which games to play, which new equipment they want to bring to the teen center, and offer suggestions for new tournament and event ideas. Registration for Gamer Club is free and may be submitted online at www.trackside.org/clubs.

Before the spring Gamer Club starts on Friday February 2nd, Trackside is hosting a special Super Smash Bros tournament this Friday, January 19th at 6pm which is open to all Wilton teens ages 13 and up. Gamers will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes including game store gift cards. The entry fee for the tournament is $15 and registration must be submitted online. More information and registration can be found at www.trackside.org/smash.
