State Rep Gail Lavielle gets nod from CT Realtors

LAVIELLE ENDORSED BY CONNECTICUT REALTORS®

The Connecticut REALTORS© have endorsed State Representative Gail Lavielle (R-143) for reelection on November 4 to the General Assembly’s 143rd House district, which includes parts of Norwalk, Westport, and Wilton.

“We carefully evaluate candidates in determining who may best ensure there is a positive environment for living in or transferring property in Connecticut. Real estate is essential to economic recovery and stability in the state and the nation, and helps to build communities. Thank you for your commitment to serve,” said Debra J. Chamberlain, President of Connecticut REALTORS®.

Connecticut REALTORS® is Connecticut's largest professional trade association, representing more than 15,000 real estate professionals engaged in all aspects of the real estate business. Founded in 1920, the association is dedicated to enhancing the ability of its members to conduct their business successfully while maintaining the preservation of private property rights.

“Realtors are a bellwether for the state’s economy, and it’s important to understand their perspective,” said Lavielle. “I share their concerns about the effects on our real estate markets when people and businesses leave Connecticut for states with more dynamic, tax-friendly economies. I always learn a great deal from them about the general public’s views on key economic issues, as well as transportation, education, and quality of life.

“As small business operators themselves, realtors also have a first-hand understanding of the effects of mandates, high taxes, and onerous regulations on small businesses,” Lavielle said. “Small businesses owners are the backbone of our state’s economy, and a big part of our job as legislators is to do all we can to remove barriers to their success. I’m honored by this endorsement from professionals who represent such a critically important economic sector in Connecticut.”

State Rep. Gail Lavielle represents the 143rd district, which includes parts of Wilton, Norwalk, and Westport. She is Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Commerce Committee and the Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation, and a member of the Appropriations, Education, and Higher Education Committees.
