Wilton PD Discover Weapons and Narcotics During Traffic Stop

Wilton Police pulled over a vehicle on Danbury Road, November 21st around 3 a.m., for traveling without lights. Upon contact with the operator the smell of marijuana was detected. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana, narcotics, a pistol with a large capacity magazine in the vehicle and a dangerous weapon, brass knuckles, on one of the occupants of the vehicle.

Passenger Tarquis Andino, of Stamford, admitted to owning the pistol without a permit and for weapons law violations. Both parties were taken into custody.

Passenger Richard Desmond, of Stamford, was charged for possession of narcotics (marijuana) and dangerous weapon. Desmond was also found to have a pending arrest warrant for a Violation of Probabtion in Stamford and was processed accordingly.

Adino posted bail and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court. Desmond is held on a total $40,000 bond and will appear at Norwalk Superior Court if unable to post bond.
