Time:              1234 hours

Location:        Rivergate Drive near # 31, Wilton, Connecticut

On the above date and time Wilton Central Dispatch received a 911 call concerning a medical emergency in the area of 31 Rivergate Drive involving a utility worker.  Wilton Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched and the victim was subsequently transported by WVAC to Norwalk Hospital.

A follow up investigation is being conducted by the Wilton Police Department, in conjunction with OSHA and Eversource Energy.  The road will be closed for an extended period of time between the intersections of Blue Ridge Lane and Pilgram Trail. Wilton CERT responded and will be assisting with traffic control.

A preliminary investigation shows that an employee of an Eversource sub-contractor was in the process of placing a pole when one of the workers on the ground went down to the ground from a standing position for an unknown reason. The investigation will focus on the possibility of an electrical related incident.

On Thursday June 9, 2016, the Wilton Police Department was notified by Norwalk Hospital that the patient, who has been identified as Marcos (Da)Silva, age 44 of Danbury, was unable to be resuscitated and pronounced dead.  Mr. Silva was employed at the time of the incident by KTI Utility Construction of Wilton. The CT. Medical examiner’s Office completed an autopsy Friday afternoon and ruled the cause of death as electrocution.  This investigation is still ongoing at this time.
