Wilton Police Arrest Bristol Resident on Multiple Charges Stemming from Car Burglaries in December, 2016

On March 23, 2017 the Wilton Police Department arrested Jay Crump Jr., age 27, of Bristol, CT on an arrest warrant for the following charges:

  • Burglary 3rd Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Burglary 3rd Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Identity Theft 2nd Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 2nd Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Larceny 6th Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6th Degree – Two (2) counts
  • Credit Card Forgery of Signature


The charges stem from two (2) car burglaries that occurred in the Rivergate Drive and West Meadow Road areas of town during the overnight hours of December 21 – 22, 2016. Investigation revealed that a short time after the car burglaries that a victim’s credit cards had been used in Waterbury and Southington, CT. A review of video surveillance revealed Jay Crump Jr. as one of the suspects. Additional arrests related to this investigation are anticipated.
