A Firework in Progress: Cinnamon Protein Waffles Recipe

It's simple and quick to whip up an easy breakfast with just a few ingredients. I made these waffles with a bit of extra cinnamon for a warm, tasty treat. This is for one waffle so you can adjust as needed but I generally make a single serving at a time. These are gluten-free with a nice dose of protein and some heart-healthy carbs to get you going.

Ingredients
1/4 cup Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Rolled Oats, ground into flour
1 tsp pure ground cinnamon
1 scoop Tera's Whey Bourbon Vanilla Protein Powder
1/2 Banana
1 Egg White
1/4 cup Silk Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
1/2 tsp Trader Joes's Pure Vanilla Extract

Directions
Heat up a waffle iron on low heat. In a small food processor or blender (I use a CuisinartSmart Power Blender) grind up the oats, cinnamon and protein powder. It helps to mix the dry ingredients first. Then blend all of the remaining ingredients and pour into waffle iron. Cook until golden brown and cooked through.

This can be a great breakfast, snack, or even dessert. Top with any desired ingredients such as fresh strawberries, pure maple syrup, sliced bananas, chocolate chips, or peanut butter. Or all of the above! Enjoy!
