DANBURY — State Rep. David Scribner (R-107), member of the Public Health Committee, today congratulates Western Connecticut Home Care (WCHC) for earning a Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission. The seal is only awarded for a three-year period to those who demonstrate continuous compliance with performance standards and a commitment to providing safe and effective care. A survey of WCHC was taken in November which evaluated organization, provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, human resources, individual rights and responsibilities, and leadership. The Joint Commission also provided WCHC with educational training to help staff to continue to improve its performance.
“After years of advocacy, I am thrilled we are being recognized for achieving such a high level of quality care for patients and their families who deserve greater comfort and support during a difficult time,” said Rep. Scribner, a member of the Board of Directors for the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut. “This accreditation is a great honor for Western Connecticut Home Care, and is very well-deserved.”
