Bethel High's own "Maggie's Cafe" honoree, Margaret Grace Hults, has passed at 89

Margaret Grace Hults, 89, of Bethel, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Maplewood at Stony Hill. She was the wife of the late Gordon Hults, Sr.

She was born in Danbury, a daughter of the late Silvio and Grace (Datella) Gerali. She and her husband raised their children in Bethel. Maggie worked in the cafeteria at Bethel High School for over 54 years. On the 50th Anniversary of her employment, she was honored for her dedication, kindness and spirit of generosity. The honors continued when the newly designed cafeteria was named "Maggie's Cafe". Maggie said that everyone at Bethel High School was her second family.

She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary Church. Maggie enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by 2 sons: Gordon Hults, Jr. and his wife, Laurie and Gary Hults all of New Milford; 4 grandchildren: Amy Hults-Juhls and her husband, Carl, Kristy Hults-Burch and her husband, Matt, Michael Hults and his wife, Emily, and David Hults; 6 great grandchildren: Maizie, Brayden and Emily Juhls, Maia Burch, and Olivia and Spencer Hults, and several cousins.

Funeral Information

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 17 at 10:00am at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury; burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16 at the funeral home between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00PM.
