Town of Bethel COVID-19 Vaccine Update: Now Accepting Ages 65 and up

As you may have seen in recent press reports, Gov. Lamont expanded vaccine availability to the next priority group, residents aged 65 to 74. The Town of Bethel has been pre-registering the 65+ for the past several weeks and is in now scheduling vaccine appointments to begin this week.

If you have not already done so, I encourage everyone in the 65+ age group to register for an appointment as soon as possible. There are two ways to register: with the Bethel-Redding vaccine clinic that has been set up specifically for local residents, and with the State of Connecticut VAMS. I advise all eligible residents to register with both websites and accept the first appointment that is offered. Online registration forms can be accessed here:

GOOD NEWS - EXTRA PRECAUTIONS WORK!

According to several recent studies, "double-masking" has been found to reduce transmissibility of the COVID virus by up to 97.5%. Several of the more virulent forms of the virus have been found in our state, so health authorities advise everyone to be extra cautious this winter season.

We will continue to pass new information along as soon as we receive it.
