hop for affordable adult and children’s clothing while helping to fund local church missions during the Community Clothing Sale on Fri., Oct. 18 and Sat., Oct. 19 at Jesse Lee Church.
As for more than 35 years, this much-anticipated annual event features both gently used and brand-new tags-still-on clothing, footwear and accessories in traditional retail sizes for everyone. Most items are bargain-priced between $1 and $6.
The sale is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Jesse Lee Church’s Carriage House, at the west end of the campus parking lot. Jesse Lee is at 207 Main St., at King Lane.
All proceeds help to fund community-supportive ministries, such as Jesse Lee’s Spirit Builders construction ministry, Jesse Lee Appalachia Service Project (ASP) and the clean-clothing effort in Danbury called Laundry Love. Where else can you find inexpensive vintage Prada while helping to build wheelchair ramps for those in need?
While you’re at the church, be sure to stop by the Jesse Lee Pumpkin Patch. The pumpkins are grown in New Mexico in an operation that employees some 700 Navajo people at harvest time, so buying pumpkins at Jesse Lee is another way to help the church help others.
