Forrest Gumpism's For Valentine's Day

"My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." - Forrest Gump

And yes, Forrest Gump was right- you never know what you're going to get. Many quotes from the movie just seem to fit in with Valentine's Day. Especially when it comes to deciphering love in terms between men and women.

Here are a few suggestions for celebrating this hoilday of love and a few Gumpism's for Valentine's Day.

Mrs. Gump: You have to do the best with what God gave you.

Lock your two lips on the one you love or buy some tulips. Have a candlelight dinner at home or make a reservation over the weekend and avoid the crowds.

Bring your sweetie some beautiful red roses and a great card. Be sure to discern whether your sweetie goes in for the humorous or serious type of card.

Bubba: Have you ever been on a real shrimp boat?

Forrest Gump: No, but I've been on a real big boat.

You could watch a great romantic movie at home or go see one of the oscar nominated movies in the theater. If you decide to stay home, and you are the husband, do not, I repeat, do not ask your wife to watch "Wicked Tuna" or "Swamp People."

Jenny Curran: Why are you so good to me?

Forrest Gump: You're my girl!

Jenny Curran: [pause] I'll always be your girl.

No holds barred, it is the custom for husbands everywhere to watch whatever their wives request on this night.

Forrest Gump: Hello. My name's Forrest, Forrest Gump. You want a chocolate?

Gentlemen, please bring your sweetheart some chocolate, women love to secretly eat it. Once the box of chocolate is opened, never monitor how many pieces are in it at any time.

In fact, if you must have a piece of your sweetheart's chocolate, do it when she is not in the room.

Equally as important, is whether your special someone likes milk or dark chocolate. Guys, do you remember the first time you got behind the wheels of that first special car? You know, the one with the sweet gears, where you dropped the clutch and went from first to second and so forth. Well, that is what chocolate can do for women. Chocolate just motors women right along, it is an aphrodisiac after all.

Forrest Gump: When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate. When I had to go, you know, I went.

Elderly Southern Woman on Park Bench: And so, you just ran?

Forrest Gump: Yeah.

For some men, this whole holiday seems a bit much. Think about the big picture...

Isn't the special someone in your life worth it? So go ahead, make her happy.

Forrest Gump: Me and Jenny goes together like peas and carrots.

Life is what we make it, enjoy the day, cuddle up, laugh, hold hands and remember all the beautiful moments you share and why you are together.

Chocolate and flowers, such is the day of love forever more.
