Regional Hospice and Palliative Care officially launched the Karl H. Epple Scholarship for Compassionate Care

On February 28th, Regional Hospice and Palliative Care officially launched the Karl H. Epple Scholarship for Compassionate Care at their Center for Comfort Care & Healing on Milestone Road in Danbury.

The Center was packed with friends and four generations of the Epple family who came out to honor the generosity and community service of the late Karl Epple. Epple, the former CEO of Heli-Coil, spent more than 22 years as a member of the Regional Hospice Board of Directors and served on many other local boards. After guiding Regional Hospice through years of tremendous growth and innovation, Epple died peacefully on August 28th in its Center for Comfort Care & Healing— the place he volunteered tirelessly to make possible.

The Karl H. Epple Scholarship for Compassionate Care honors Epple’s passionate commitment to clinical excellence that has made Regional Hospice consistently rank in the top percentile nationally in Press Ganey surveys measuring patient satisfaction and best practices in healthcare delivery. The scholarship supports continuing education for clinical staff specializing in hospice care.
