Northern Fairfield County Association of Realtors Delivers Paddington Gifts to Children in Local Shelters

PaddingtonTM plush bears were “raised” to help local families remain in their homes.

Approximately 3,000 people across CT are homeless on any given night and 1 in 5 of those are children under 18. PaddingtonTM bears were “raised” as part of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness 7th annual be homeful for the holidays campaign.

For every $25 donated, the CT REALTORS® Foundation sponsored the gift of a Paddington bear or backpack for older children spending the holidays in a shelter. This allowed all money raised to go directly to the be homeful fund.  The fund provides emergency assistance that frontline workers can access to help local families remain in their homes rather than enter the shelter system. The be homeful project has served over 2,000 children in 1,000 families since 2015. This year, NFCAR delivered gifts locally to Harmony House. In addition to the gifts, NFCAR presented Harmony House with a $750 check from the NFCAR Community Foundation, these were some of the funds raised at the NFCAR Holiday Party.
