Get Buzzed when Byrd's Books & Pour Me Cafe host Book Talk with Eric Ofgang on October 26

Bethel's Byrd's Books, noted as a champion of Connecticut authors, histories, and tales, brings author Erik Ofgang to Pour Me Coffee & Wine Cafe in downtown Danbury on Thursday, October 26th at 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The fast-fine eatery, located at 274 Main Street, is the perfect setting in which Erik, with his new book Buzzed: Beers, Booze and Coffee Brews: Where to Enjoy the Best Craft Beverages in New England, will guide craft brew enthusiasts on a journey throughout New England’s favorite beverage haunts.

"How could you not love a book titled Buzzed," writes George Martin, a columnist for the Bangor Daily News, and here is an unique opportunity to share in what the author calls "an ode to some of the best craft-beverage destinations in New England." Erik's first book, Buzzed is published, appropriately, by  Islandport Press, based in Maine, and is a welcomed addition to a trendy discourse on all things brewed.

Erik Ofgang is an award-winning writer, musician, and magician whose work regularly appears in dozens of magazines and newspapers throughout the country, including The Associated Press, The Hartford Courant, and Connecticut Magazine, where he works as a staff writer and content curator. He teaches writing at Western Connecticut State University and is the founding editor of Poor Yorick, a literary journal published by the university’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative and Professional Writing program. When he’s not writing or conducting intensive field “research” at breweries or distilleries, he can be found playing bass with the Celtic roots band, MacTalla Mor. He lives in western Connecticut with his wife and designated driver, Corinne.

For the event, Pour Me Coffee & Wine Cafe will feature Ice Cream Man on tap, an American IPA style beer brewed by Back East Brewing Company of Bloomfield, CT. Erik notes, "Ice Cream Man was recently ranked #5 in the country in a blind taste testing of IPAs by Draft Magazine."

The evening will include beverage samples, light fare, a copy of the book and Erik's talk. The cost is $40.00 per person, tax and tip included. A cash bar is available. Registration is required online at http://conta.cc/2y93Qh3
