JULY 9           MHFA TRAINING PART 1: Health360 will offer Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training from 1 to 5 p.m. in Room 411 of the Haas Library on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. MHFA is an 8-hour certification course (similar to a traditional CPR First Aid course) in which participants learn to recognize the symptoms of mental health problems, offer and provide initial help and guide individuals to professional help when appropriate. The training aims to demystify mental illness while increasing mental health literacy and decreasing the stigma associated with mental illness. This training is free and the public is invited. JULY 10         MUDRAS FOR MEDITATION SERIES: The Institute for Holistic Health Studies at WCSU will host Mudras for Meditation at 7 p.m. in Room 103 of Warner Hall on the Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. JULY 15         BALLET UNDER THE STARS: As part of the Newtown Savings Bank Fine Arts & Family Series, Ives Concert Park will host the Connecticut Ballet at Ives Concert Park on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The Connecticut Ballet will present Ballet under the Stars featuring “Pulse” by Darrell Grand Moultrie, one of the works to be performed, at 7:30 p.m. A free onstage Ballroom Class will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. with Ted Thomas instructing. JULY 20/21    MOCKSTOCK TRIBUTE BAND FESTIVAL: MockStock, a two-day tribute band music festival, will be from 5 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Ives Concert Park on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Friday is MockStock Purple, featuring a tribute to Prince, Jimi Hendrix and Sly & the Family Stone. Saturday is MockStock Metal, featuring the music of Metallica, AC/DC and Guns ‘n’ Roses. AUG. 10/11    FOREVER GRATEFUL MUSIC FESTIVAL: The fourth annual Forever Grateful Music Festival will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday night and 1 p.m. on Saturday at Ives Concert Park on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Enjoy a fun and creative evening of drawing from a live model in a relaxed environment while enjoying wine and assorted seasonal snacks.
