Emerging Irish Artist Shares Love of Home in Photo Exhibit in Bethel

Emerging Irish artist, Marion Lynott shares love of home in her photography. Her collection, “Memories of Home,” featuring pictures of the West of Ireland and farm life is on display at Bethel Photoworks, framed and curated by owner Ray Flanigan.

Marion Lynott’s heritage inspires her art and allows her to convey the feelings of home wherever she travels.

Lynott grew up on a small farm in Glenmore, Co. Mayo, a village in the West of Ireland. She believes this is where her love of nature, animals, and rural life came from. She also knows that she loves to share the beauty of nature.

“My goal is to have my artwork viewed around the world in hotels, restaurants, corporate buildings,” Lynott said. ”Anywhere that landscape and the small intricacies of nature are appreciated, and where viewing it can bring a little extra happiness and tranquility to people.”

Her collection, “Memories of Home,” featuring pictures of the West of Ireland and farm life is on display at Bethel Photoworks, framed and curated by owner Ray Flanigan. One review of Lynott’s work described her as having “an uncanny eye for capturing those everyday moments in rural Ireland that still possess raw beauty and the power to draw us in.”

Lynott is already thinking ahead to her next venture with her photography.

“One of my next projects will be to have massive pieces created so that when people look at them, they are transported to Ireland and can actually feel themselves in the exact spot,” Lynott said. “I want people to get lost in another world when they view my art.”

An artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, March 16, between 2 and 4 p.m. with light refreshments, music -- and possibly Irish dancing. The reception, at Bethel Photoworks, 226 Greenwood Ave., is free and open to the public. The exhibit will run through March 30.

Lynott spent most of her career in corporate America and when her job was eliminated in 2017 she started her own health and wellness business.  After working most of her life indoors surrounded by offices and cubicles, Lynott recognized how much she yearned to be out in nature. This realization led her to explore her photography on a professional level. She founded Irish Flare Photography, LLCin 2018. Lynott is a member of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, Candlewood Camera Club and the Wilton Arts Council.

“I want to surround myself with as much knowledge and knowledgeable people as possible so that I can grow and evolve in this field,” Lynott said.

Lynott is available for headshot, lifestyle, wedding and event photography.

In her first juried photography competition, Lynott recently received an Honorable Mention at “FOCUS 19,” run by the Wilton Arts Council and displayed in the Wilton Library.

Her next display will be at the Bethel Public Library from April 1 to May 20.

Lynott’s work can be seen at www.irishflare.com.
