Bethel's Byrd's Books host a special evening of shared writing on line, June 16

Continuing its role as a community hub for sharing words and ideas, Bethel’s Byrd’s Books and its owner Alice Hutchinson will host its 2nd Zoom In event on Tuesday, June 16th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The online gathering is a unique chance to write with Newbery honoree Gail Carson Levine, the author of young adult bestsellers, Ella Enchanted and The Two Princesses of Bamarre.

For students, adults, and enthusiastic bibliophiles, this special get-together, during which Gail will provide a writing prompt for attendees to prepare something short to share, will include a discussion about Gail’s writing process led by another favorite Byrd’s Books author, Karen Romano Young. Gail will also share how she came to write her newest book, A Ceiling Made of Eggshells. Of course, questions will be welcomed.

In A Ceiling Made of Eggshells, set during the expulsion of Jews from Spain, Gail Carson Levine tells a compassionate story about a young Jewish girl full of heart who must play her own role in her people’s epic history, no matter the sacrifice.
