Free Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing at Rogers Park Middle School on Saturday

Danbury’s Health and Human Services Department and Connecticut Institute For Communities To Provide Free Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing at Rogers Park Middle School - August 22

Connecticut Institute For Communities (CIFC)’s Greater Danbury Community Health Center (GDCHC), in partnership with the Danbury Health and Human Services, will be providing free COVID-19 testing on Saturday, August 22nd at Roger’s Park Middle School. The drive-thru testing will take place at 21 Memorial Drive and operate from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. CIFC will have medical staff conducting nasal swab testing. Residents are encouraged to bring photo identification, but it is not required. If residents are driving up to the site, they must remain inside their vehicles during the process. Walk-ups are also accepted.

Connecticut, with a population of almost 3.5 million, has tested 935,680 residents to date with 50,897 testing positive for COVID-19. Currently, there are no vaccines to prevent coronavirus disease as the virus is spread through respiratory droplets from an infected person. As asymptomatic individuals can still spread the disease, widespread testing, social distancing, and the use of masks during interactions have helped to combat further spread of the coronavirus.

For a COVID-19 testing appointment, please contact Connecticut Institute for Communities at 203-456-1413. For more information about this event, please contact Veasna Roeun of Danbury Health and Human Services at 203-797-4625.
