Bethel Trick or Treat Street Tomorrow Rain or Shine!

Editor's note: Bethel Chamber of Commerce says, "We're keeping our fingers and toes crossed that the weather forecast improves for Saturday...In the event of rain - most of the businesses (who have physical locations) still welcome you to come trick or treating."

Trick or Treat Street is back! This long-time Bethel Halloween tradition – cancelled last year thanks to Covid - returns on Saturday, October 30, from 1-3. (No early birds, please!) Trick-or-treaters of all ages will be welcome along Greenwood Avenue from Caraluzzi’s to Dolan Plaza and in front of the Municipal Building on School Street, where tables will be set up by participating shopkeepers and local vendors. The Bethel Chamber of Commerce is sponsor.

A costume contest will take place on the lawn of the Municipal Building at 3 p.m. “We will organize the participants by age groups - birth-pre-K, kindergarten to third grade, fourth to eighth grade and ninth grade to adult,” said Trick or Treat Street organizer Kimberly Ramsey of The Toy Room. “They will parade along the walkways on the lawn.  Anyone who wants to participate should be there by 3 so they don't miss out on their age group.” Judges will include First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker, Superintendent of Schools Christine Carver and a representative of the Bethel Educational Foundation. Erik Tonner will be DJ during the event.

“Since we are still somewhat in the midst of a pandemic, we are keeping it relatively simple, with the focus mainly on trick or treating,” said Ms. Ramsey. “We are so excited this fun Halloween tradition is back!”
