Bethel’s Byrd’s Books announces May guests on Write America

The weekly virtual author series, Write America, hosted by Bethel’s Byrd’s Books, continues to feature award-winning, nationally-renowned authors, as well as new and emerging writers, in readings and conversation about how books and art might bridge the deep divisions in our nation. The prestigious series, now in its 2nd year, is conceived and curated by author Roger Rosenblatt with online host, Bethel’s Byrd’s Books’ owner Alice Hutchinson. Streamed on Byrd's Books' Crowdcast channel on Mondays, 7:00pm to 8:00pm, The Write America events are all free to attend.

“A writer’s words are a tacit call for people to gather round and discover or rediscover their common thoughts and feelings and their connections to one another,” writes Roger Rosenblatt. “In this project, then, we have come together to read our work in the interests of life's nobler values.”

Write America’s May guest roster includes:

Monday, May 2:

Episode 58 with Rose Styron, Philip Schultz, and Marilyn Nelson

Monday, May 9:

Episode 59 with Susan Minot, Valdez Quade, and David Remnick
